Hello, my name is Tatum Lee and I’m your State Representative for District 117. Our district is large, covering 8 counties. I serve all of Edwards, Hodgeman, Kiowa & Ness as well as parts of Finney, Ford, Pawnee & Rush.

What an honor to serve you in Topeka.

I’m a 5th generation farmer and rancher from Ness County. – Our family has been at the same spot on the map since 1885.  It truly is a blessing to be able to carry on the legacy of being here in the same community where my great, great grandparents worked and built their lives.

Legacy, family and tradition are very important to me. I believe if you don’t know where you came from, you don’t appreciate what you’re fighting for.

In October 2020, I ran for this seat in a special election for two main reasons:

The driving reason was that my sweet papa was locked in a nursing home and was being denied his civil liberties by not being able to have access to his family during this “plandemic.”

I was desperate to get in to see him. And yet, nobody would help me. Despite the protections of the 1987 Nursing Home Act, that specifically stated that “residents had rights,” the powers that be were silent. I even went as far as going to the Kansas Attorney General’s office, Derek Schmidt, and their office would not even respond.

I decided to do something about it myself. I ran for the open seat. It was stunning to me that anyone would think that locking grandpa and grandma up behind plexi glass boxes was acceptable or letting them die without their families was warranted, and yet it happened. I believe history will record that as one of the greatest crimes against humanity in our lifetime. We must value life from birth to death.

Secondly, I know what it’s taken for this ranch to keep afloat during droughts, downturns and unpredictable weather. I know these people. I know this land. District 117 runs off of agriculture, beef primarily, and oil and gas. And currently, those industries are under attack.

If those industries are not allowed to produce at capacity, the economics don’t trickle down to the butcher, the baker, and the candlestick maker. That’s when we see Mainstreet go broke. We all depend on those commodities.

Saving rural America is simple…Protect the industries that built rural America.

Every decision I make I try to ask Holy Spirit the direction to go.

The lens I view everything through is this….”How does this affect Liberty?”

Right now, Liberty is under attack. We are on the cusp of tyranny and if we are not able to right this ship, we will lose our guaranteed constitutional freedoms.

“We The People” have made a grave mistake. We have thought that others were taking care of business while we were busy living our lives, raising our kids and making a living.

Well, I’m here to tell you, the Calvary isn’t coming.

We’re it.

The responsibility isn’t on Legislators to “give” people their freedoms. Freedom comes from God. You already have your liberty! It’s our fault as citizens that we are in the position we are in as a nation. We’ve been lazy and haven’t been paying attention. It’s now time to wake up, rise up and take back our land. That will require effort on everybody’s party. Office or not.

I’ve been in Topeka long enough now to realize that it’s not the Democrats that are the problem. We know they have become the party of communists. The true problem in Kansas lies in the Republican party. The weak spined “conservatives” that mask themselves as freedom fighters when the reality is, they would rather hide under their desks and not make waves as long as it will get them elected again. Some call them RINOS (Republicans in name only) I call them Democratic Operatives. And they need exposed and voted out.

Now is the time in Kansas and in this nation to get a stiff neck, steely spine and to set our face like flint as the Bible says.

Now is the time to run our race.

This nation is a gift. We are in the heartland. The Word of God says that “out of the heart, the mouth speaks…” Matthew 12:34. I truly believe that being in the heartland is special. God has and will continue to use Kansas to set the tone for the rest of the nation. But…we must repent, ask for mercy, believe the Lord for divine strategy, and then work like the dickens to defend Liberty.

Liberty is a verb. It’s not something we have the leisure to set on a shelf and let it collect dust. Liberty is something that we need to wield as a sword. The sword of truth.

Liberty is divine. It’s innately in each of us regardless of color, creed, gender or vaccination status. Liberty is worth fighting for.

Election Integrity has become paramount. Without fair elections, we don’t have a Republic. I have signed a letter with over 150 other legislators from across the country calling for a forensic audit of our elections to confirm the validity of the last election in November 2020. I believe evidence suggests there was foul play and we owe it to the people to investigate so that people have confidence in their vote counting.

Private Property Rights. Biden’s 30×30 plan is egregious and another perfect example of government overreach. The constitution cleary states what the federal government can and cannot own. Biden is ready to steam roll the constitution and the American people will be left holding the bag. In Kansas, the National Heritage Areas are a prime example of what happens, when the people aren’t paying attention. I highly suggest you make sure your local level of government is doing their job, the commissioners and the Sheriffs so that the first line of local defense is in place. It’s time to only hire patriots, and it’s up to us to determine who those candidates are.

As for my fiscal beliefs…I believe if government would run their business like we are forced to run our personal lives, we would be much better off.

I sit on the Agriculture and Natural Resource Budget Committee and have been shocked as to the process. It seems that for some, once legislators walk inside the Capitol dome, zeros and commas become irrelevant.

To me, I can’t help but think that even if we save $100, that’s $100 saved! The government should not be expanding but should be looking for places to cut back.  This last year the Legislature passed the largest budget in Kansas history…200 million more than our Liberal Governor even recommended to us. I didn’t vote for it. But many did. It passed with flying colors in our Republican Super-Majority House and Senate. This is what I mean when I say, we need to hire some true patriots in Topeka that actually adhere to the party platform of fiscal conservatism.

I grew up with faith, hard work and grit as my foundation. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty and certainly am not afraid to stand up for what I believe when it’s the right thing to do.

I see too many politicians at every level cast votes and take positions based on them getting re-elected, and I think that’s insincere.

I will always try to do the right thing because it’s the right thing regardless of political agenda or party. If you like me, you’ll vote for me, if you don’t, you won’t hire me back.

I am not a politician. I am a just a girl out in the middle of western Kansas who wants to make a difference but I will not sell my soul to do it.

I was told early on in Topeka that I would need to conform and play 3 dimensional chess to get anything done. While I can appreciate the fact that there is strategy involved in working with people on both sides of the aisle and compromising, I simply will not conform to a “game.”

I believe the reason we are in the position we are in is because we have too many legislators more concerned with “the game” than what is good for “we the people.” This is true at the federal level as well.

Thank you for the honor of representing you.
